Employment and social security law

We help employers and employees handle employment matters in line with the law and without unnecessary risk: from employment documentation, through parting ways with staff, to disputes before the labour court and proceedings with the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).

Open-plan office — employment and social security law

How we help

Employment documentation

We draft and put in order employment contracts, work and remuneration regulations, remote work rules and internal policies. We check whether the documents comply with current legislation.

Termination and collective redundancies

We advise on notices of termination and termination by mutual agreement. We guide employers through the collective redundancy procedure, including consultations and obligations towards the labour office.

Executive contracts

We prepare agreements with management board members and senior managers, including non-compete clauses, bonus rules and liability.

Employment disputes

We represent employers and employees in cases concerning reinstatement, compensation, remuneration and other employment claims. Before a dispute reaches the court, we look for a settlement.

Social security (ZUS) matters

We advise on social insurance coverage and contributions, assist during inspections and file appeals against ZUS decisions with the court.

Who we work for

  • Small and medium-sized employers.
  • Foreign companies employing staff in Poland.
  • Managers negotiating a contract or the terms of their departure.
  • Private individuals in disputes with their employer.
  • Entrepreneurs and private individuals in a dispute with an employee or with ZUS.

How we work

  1. A review of your current documentation and HR practices.
  2. A list of non-compliances and ready-to-use document templates.
  3. Support with day-to-day decisions before they are communicated to employees.
  4. Representation in a dispute or proceedings, should it come to that.

Frequently asked questions

Before you call us

The basics are employment contracts, information on the terms of employment and personnel files. Work regulations and remuneration regulations are, as a rule, mandatory for employers with at least 50 employees. The scope also depends on how work is organised, for example remote work.

Notice of termination of a contract for an indefinite period must state a genuine and specific reason. You also need to check whether the employee enjoys special protection and whether the decision has to be consulted with a trade union.

You can appeal to the court via ZUS, generally within one month of receiving the decision. It is worth doing so with a representative, because the outcome often depends on the evidence submitted in the appeal itself.
